ASICS has a well-established connection with Naruto, having previously designed GEL-LYTE IIIs inspired by the Copycat Shinobi. Now, just over a year later, the Japanese footwear brand is revisiting its collaboration with the beloved franchise, this time drawing inspiration from the series’ iconic hero for their upcoming release.

Scheduled to launch in December, the Naruto Shippuden x ASICS GEL-NYC pays homage to a pivotal storyline in the series, the Pain Arc. The design of the shoe is explicitly influenced by the protagonist’s “Sage Mode.” Notable customizations include a lace lock designed to resemble a scroll, the Konoha emblem etched into the dubrae, the Uzumaki clan’s logo embroidered on the tongue, and a color palette that mirrors the character’s empowered form. Additionally, the shoes come in a special packaging and will be accompanied by various accessories, which have yet to be unveiled.

To acquire the Naruto Shippuden x ASICS GEL-NYC, you can find them at the EU retailer Courir, both in their physical stores and online, starting on December 11th. While waiting, you can get a sneak peek of the collaborative pair through the campaign imagery provided.
